time off

You know I need a vacation!

Anyways, I just filled out and sign the request for the 2 trips I'm planning. One at the end of the month and the other in June. We'll see what happens. I'm probably gonna have to raise hell to get the time off.

Cross your fingers!

works

The huge event at work that I was in charge of is FINALLY officially over!

Woot

According to yesterday, I was actually in the lead in actual sales for the district. Kinda weird to have hard work pay off. I'm so not used to it. Of course I'm not celebrating too much. We actually are not in the lead for percent to plan, which is what matters.

It really sucks that percentages are seen above actual sales. So the Oklahoma City store which had a plan of about 4k made about 6k... A huge percent over-plan... and we have a very ambitious plan of about 25k making 19k

Oh well. These figures are not finite till tomorrow. We'll see if I made goal. Making 6k in a day is possible, right? It's only about a third of our sales for the day.

I have tomorrow off, so I'll have to call in to see if I made it. I worked my ass off on this!!!

sad

Just when you take one part of your life for granted, it takes a drastic change to the worst...

sigh. Family stuff.

If I ever was emo, I'm definitely emo now. Wishing I had a day off, so I could drink these pains away. I haven't had a flask of everclear in a while.

Everything else in my life that I've stressed over seems trivial. I want to enjoy the simple things. I have a job. I have a place to live. I have someone in my life right now that loves me and would do anything for me. I do have a surrogate family of friends that I've grown to care greatly about. They all are on a pedestal in my heart. I'm healthy. I can do things for myself. I can be strong.

I can do this. I can get through this. I can. I must. I will. I have to.

Mmm, no work

Mmm, no work.

So far my week vacation has been okay.
I went to TBRU (unregistered). T-B-R'ah-U and sometimes Y! It was alright even though I wasn't registered for the event. The hotel was awesome, so I didn't feel too bad when all the rest of the peeps went to events. Germaine brought up an interesting point during the event. I should be drunk 80% of the time. I am a bit more social. BTW...

DJ... what is the final count? (More on that later)

After TBRU, I went to my mom's place for some Easter stuff. I had already missed most of the festivities, but it was good to see everyone. Then my mom convinced me to babysit my sister for a few days. It's been fun. She leaves on Thursday, which is good cause I'm afraid if she stays here any longer she's gonna burst. (She's pregnant and nearly due)

Only Thursday, Friday and Saturday left. Gotta make it count. I think I'm starting my Thursday off going to the Baylor Donor Center downtown and donate blood.

Those Carter Bloodcare people have been calling me to donate.

They are so nice on the phone, how can I say no.

And it's not like I'm doing anything.

I need some good karma anyways.

It's on the way to the gayborhood anyways. It's Family Night.

All very good reasons.

hungover all day

Josh called me yesterday while I was at work. So during my lunch break, I returned the call. Apparently it was St. Patrick's Day and since I'm just a lush, my presence was required.

At the time, I had plans with [info]casmire. His brother and friend were in town for a gay 'ol time-- quite literally. So I told them I maybe would drop by later.

Then the time came when I met Danny and his kin. Oh man, I competely forgot that I hate kids. Especially teenagers. And these little people where in the peak of their teendom. And then we went to a mall, which I think only heightens their ability to get on my nerves. I was almost at the point of  "Crazy Old Man" mad. They would duck into random stores. They played the elevator game. Follow the leader. I was surprised they didn't break out the chalk to draw a hopscotch thingy in the middle of the mall. UGH.

I finally managed to weasel out of the situation and went to Mi-maw's house. I then drank and drank till the whole Barcardi Silver Rum bottle I came with as empty, then gave my debit card to Danny to run out to the liquor store before it closed to buy two more bottles.

Needless to say, I didn't stay at Danny's. I crashed on Bruce's couch. The plan was to get up at 4:45am so I could get to work by 6am.. but I woke up at 6:30 and ran to work by 7am. I shocked that I made it in that early.

So, yea. I was hungover the ENTIRE DAY! It was hell.

Luckily I am used to disguising my hungover-ness. There was only one girl who was "You need a V8!" And I was going to ask her for hers, but she's probably more hungover than I was. hehe.

Anyways!!! I have my approval for my vacation time. It's next week!!!!!!! (Unless the boss lied to me, which is possible)

Went to the House of Blues to see my current favorite musician, Sara Barielles. She was amazing!

And here's some horribly-taken videos from my cell phone. I should of brought my camera there!! Ugh. They are only like 17 seconds each. Skip them if you don't like her... these bad-quality videos aren't gonna win you over. hehe.

Sara Barielles - Love Song

Sara Barielles - Gravity (Frank's favorite song!!)

Ingred Michaelson... This was towards the end of the show. I think that they just wanted to fill in some time. Ingred (also a good artist) did a little impromtu game of guess that tune. Because of the very bad quality, it isn't fair. Hint.. you can actually hear what she says in the beginning; use that for reference.

dang, yo

I'll probably be getting my vacation time in the last week of March.

I REALLY need this. Work is just piling up on me. The drama and stress of it is nearly too much. And on top of that it's affecting my non-work life. It seems like my whole life revolves around this work. I just need this time to collect my thoughts and reconnect to the world outside of Borders.

Getting another job (I would think anything would be better than where I'm at now) has literally become a necessity for me. I need to get away from there in order to start looking at other prospects. That, and I earned that vacation time and dammit, I'm gonna use it.

Kinda sucks that I didn't use it on an actual vacation. The kids were talking about all going to Mexico next month, but I can't use that as an excuse to stay in this job anymore.

UGH.

Danny needs to become a high-priced gigolo, so I can chill at home all day.

Debt sucks.

Ah Danny Noriega

He's exactly like 80% of everyone who watches Idol...
Just a little back story to his video: Idol contestant, Danny just got purple streaks in his hair, and Ryan Seacrest is commenting that he didn't noticed them.

so, so gay.

get with it people!

I have a this manager.. and she's not only incompetent technology-wise, she downright hates it. She's a hair away from thinking that the internet is a fad. That's how bad it is. I don't get it. She's very business savvy, but doesn't like email! Ugh.

Anyways, I don't get those types of people. I mean, technological advancement is just awesome... it's a given. Like when guns and rifles were made. People didn't just say "Oh... I like the bow-and-arrow better"

Yeah, so I had a customer the other day. Big guy; right up Josh's alley. And he was looking for martial arts books. I showed him the section. And usually after this, I just wait until the person says thank you or something so I can go about my business without seeming rude leaving him. Anywho, he doesn't. So I'm standing there, just to prod him with questions so he would tell me he's okay looking by himself (it's called customer service = annoying people in a polite way, till they leave you alone) Sighs. Then he wants to look up stuff on the computer. So I look up stuff for him. He looks at the screen... like forever. I flip to the next page of books. No reaction. OMG, I'm in hell! Then he just looks puzzled. I ask him if there's anything else I can help him find. He says he's looking for atlases.

Ok. I show him the atlases... then he says he's looking for other types of atlases. Huh? Road atlases? no. Ummmm....

Then he says "Martial Art Atlases"

???

I guess you can stretch the meaning of that word so it can pertain to that... right? Then he asks me to look in the computer. I do. Nothing comes up. Ugh. Then finally I manage to sneak away while he looks at the same page for 10 minutes. "Oh.. yea.. they need me at the information desk. I'll just leave you to search. See ya" I said almost running away.

A couple minutes later, he finds me on the other side of the store. I almost said "shit!" when I saw him. He gestures me to follow him back to the computer. He asks me how to change the page. I show him... not a huge twist that someone doesn't know exactly how to maneuver Borders Book Sleuth even though it has brightly colored buttons, an infant could figure it out. Anyways, usually it takes a few seconds and a customer is just as an expert as I am. But it doesn't take a few seconds...

I stood there with him for over an hour.

REALLY.

So.

He didn't know how to use a mouse.

and later he asks me if I can print out a list of all the encyclopedias.

I wanted to punch him in the face.

Don't you love it when celebs remember that the reason why they make so much money is because they are supposed to entertain us with every aspect of their beings...

There is no personal space. You wanted to be famous. You got your wish. Now dance, bitch!!

Here we have Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman (a real couple) poking fun at themselves on TV for all of us to see.

Yeah.. ASIA [apostrophe] H! Get it right, bitch!

Loved it. ONE critique: Replace the "You know I did" with "I wish you would!" Loved the backup singers too!

Watching my girl, Amy Winehouse win 5 Grammys the other day put me in a mood. She wasn't even allowed to go to the US to accept her winnings in person. Meanwhile all these other triffling hoes show up at the Grammys. Let's take a closer look at the red carpeters.
